Terms of Service

Welcome to Afterly. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Afterly.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Stacey-Ann Yanique Pearson Consulting Ltd. Pte. (UEN 202607330G), established on 13 February 2026 and operating under the laws of Singapore.

Afterly is a secure digital vault that helps you organize essential documents and personal messages so they can reach your trusted contacts if you become unresponsive.

You may store documents, account details, instructions and messages across categories such as financial accounts, insurance, digital assets, legal documents, personal messages, medical information and property.

A release can begin in two ways: automatically if you miss a scheduled check-in and the grace period passes, or manually when a Trusted Contact uses the permanent trigger link we send them by email.

Before any access is granted, you have a review period to cancel: 21 days for a contact-triggered release, and a grace period for a missed check-in. If you do not cancel, your Trusted Contacts are asked to confirm the release, and it requires at least two of them to do so.

After two confirmations, there is a 72-hour final review window during which you can still reject the release. If you do not reject it, access is granted to your authorized contacts for the categories you assigned, and your account is downgraded to the Free tier.

You can cancel a release at any time before access is granted by checking in or rejecting it from your Release Center.

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use Afterly.

Afterly offers several subscription tiers. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. You authorize us to charge the applicable fees until you cancel.

Prices and plan features may change; any change to your plan's price will be communicated in advance and take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Annual plans may be eligible for a pro-rated refund of the unused portion if cancelled within 14 days of the most recent renewal, provided you have not triggered a vault release during that period. Monthly plans are non-refundable for the current period.

To request a refund, email hello@theafterly.com with your account email. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days.

You agree to use Afterly lawfully and not to store content that is illegal, infringes others' rights or could harm the service. You may not attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service or misuse the release process.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe your activity violates these terms or applicable law.

You are solely responsible for what you choose to store in your vault and for ensuring you have the right to store and share it.

Content you upload is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers, using a key derived from a vault passphrase that only you hold. Afterly cannot decrypt, read or recover the contents of your vault under any circumstances. If you lose your vault passphrase, your vault contents cannot be recovered.

You are responsible for keeping your own secure backups of anything critical. Afterly is not a substitute for your own records management.

Afterly, its name, logo and software are owned by us or our licensors. You retain all rights to the content you upload; you grant us only the limited permission needed to store and (when you authorize it) release that content to your trusted contacts.

Afterly is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data you cannot recover because of the encryption described above.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the service will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

We will always try to resolve concerns informally first. Please reach out to hello@theafterly.com.

You can delete your account at any time. When you do, your vault contents and uploaded files are permanently erased.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that remain inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where possible. Basic account and billing records may be retained where required for legal, accounting and tax compliance, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the 'last updated' date below. Continued use of Afterly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
